Day 3 of our adventure! Met up with Canterbury Branch at Five Stags, Hanmer Springs, ready to head off to Christchurch.
Beautiful blue skies, and Derrick, the Canterbury Branch President, lead a well organised ride back through the countryside. We followed a scenic alpine river with scenery at each turn that is magnificent. Our journey took us through weathered limestone area of the valleys and hills.
Danny had to get his duct tape out to help with Eric's Indian (Harley rider to the rescue, lol). Unfortunately there was no photographic evidence of this to be found...
Off to Lonestar for lunch, where Gloria sat and presided over the shenanigans. We also got to meet more R.A.C Canterbury members, and were joined by Heather and Cherie from the Cancer Society.
Then we were in for a treat with a guided tour through the Canterbury Cancer Centre. This was very impressive and it is clear a lot of thought has gone into the functionality of the area. It is great to see that, although it is a Cancer Society building, there are a lot of other cancer organisations sharing the facilities.
And the recognition for their major supporters is very visual. Needless to say, we were all very impressed with the tour.
Now time to chill with a P2P group bbq before the sun goes down and the cold kicks in. What an amazing adventure so far, and we are only on day 3!
Where's Gloria tonight (and who is she calling?)?
