Today started with the most amazing sunrise in Dunedin. Worth getting up early for.
Then, as everyone awoke, some went off on their own small adventures, some for coffee, while Gloria found a new friend in the caravan park.
Everyone was back in time for a quick radio interview with Burnzee on the Breeze (will be played on air tomorrow). We were a bit of a rowdy bunch for that so I hope he could make some sense out of it all, lol.
Time to leave was set for 9am, but we were all milling around well before then, ready to go, as we knew it was going to be a long day ahead.
The roads are quite lovely down south, with long sweeping bends, and yet again we were treated to some amazing scenery. Although today the Orange Cone farms were really out in force.
First stop for a stretch was at Gore, where we got some photos with the old trout.
Although we are not too sure what is going on here...
From sunny skies to overcast, we made our way just down the road to Invercargill, where we met with Penny from our Southern Branch for lunch. Yet another good location with heaps of atmosphere.
And Gloria managed to have a photo with Santa and Elvis, and found herself a new car...
Finally, we made it to THE BLUFF!
Final leg of today is up on to Kingston with a quick stop first in Lumston. Once again, the accommodation that has been booked is amazing. The views are just incredible and the entire park is pristine.
Planning for tomorrow as there is snow forecast. Yes, the alternative route that we had to plan now has the possibility of snow! So a detour on a detour (fingers crossed we will get through well before the snow arrives, if it does).
Time to tuck Gloria in for the night. Where is Gloria sleeping tonight? 'One job' is now the saying of the trip....
